This training course on NFPA 25 – Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems (2026 edition) enables participants to develop the skills needed to properly recognize, interpret, and apply inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) activities for water-based fire protection systems through live, interactive, instructor-led training.

The course provides a structured understanding of ITM activities, with an innovative approach based on time frequencies (time-based) rather than individual system components, making it easier to identify when activities should be performed and by whom. This approach reflects the approach of the NFPA 25 standard and enables more effective operational management of maintenance.

The objective of the course is to support participants in ensuring regulatory compliance and, most importantly, ensuring that fire protection systems are operational and effective in times of need, contributing to the protection of people and property.

The course is suitable for all professionals involved in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems, including facility managers, engineers, contractors, maintenance personnel, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), as well as risk engineers and insurance professionals.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose, structure and organization of the NFPA 25 standard,
  • Recognize when specific ITM activities are to be performed and by whom,
  • Describe the operation of the main sprinkler systems (wet pipe, dry pipe, preaction, deluge),
  • Determine the correct frequencies of inspection, testing and maintenance activities,
  • distinguish between impairment, critical deficiency and noncritical deficiency,
  • Identify ITM requirements applicable to different operating frequencies.

The training integrates theoretical content and practical examples, supported by instructor-led exercises and discussions, to ensure a concrete and immediately applicable understanding of regulatory requirements.

The course has a total duration of 7 hours and earns 0.7 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon completion of the entire program and final assessment.

The course can be purchased individually or in combination (bundle) with other courses in the Water-Based Fire Protection series, delivered in Italy, including NFPA 13 and/or NFPA20 course: in this case a 10% discount applies to the total.

NFPA 25 course (stand-alone): €700 + VAT

The bundled option is designed for those who want a comprehensive and consistent training programme on the main active fire protection systems, promoting an integrated view of sprinkler systems and fire-fighting pumping systems.
